Our Doctors
Douglas Frels, DVM
A Hershey, Nebraska native, Dr. Doug Frels graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BS in Animal Science. He received his DVM degree with honors from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Dr. Frels is a mixed animal practitioner with emphasis in cow/calf production.
Donna Paglialunga, DVM
As our small animal veterinarian, Dr. Donna has been practicing in Guthrie Center since 1986. She was born in Canton, Ohio, graduated from Ohio University with a BS in zoology and received her DVM degree from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine.
William Frels, DVM
Dr. William Frels is a 2019 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated from Iowa State with his B.S. in Animal Science and minor Agronomy in 2015. Dr. William's veterinary interests include surgery & reproduction, bovine medicine, and small animal practice. If he isn’t in the clinic, Dr. William can be found fixing up antique tractors and rusty trucks, and raising cattle with his wife Abby.
Abby Frels, DVM
Dr. Abby Frels is a 2019 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with her B.S. in Animal Science in 2015. Dr. Abby’s veterinary interests include surgery & reproduction, bovine medicine, small ruminant medicine, and general small animal practice. If she isn’t in the clinic, Dr. Abby can be found raising cattle with her husband William.

- All pets require current vaccination status. Dogs: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Bordetella. Cats: Rabies, Distemper/Upper respiratory. All pets are checked for fleas and ticks and treated if needed
- Dogs have a large, secure exercise area with easy access. Exercise area has a large shade tree, natural and artificial turf
- Our feline friends have a room with a view and cat condos! No dogs allowed!
- Pets are evaluated daily, if any health problems are noted, treatment can be started immediately with notification of owners
- Pets are fed Hills Science Diet unless food or special diets are brought with the pets
- Medications are given as directed
- Boarding releases may occur during non-operating weekend hours or holidays as feasible. Must be arranged prior to arrival

- We strive to practice high quality preventative medicine using state of the art products and vaccines. Most of our clients want to have their calves preconditioned processed prior to selling. We participate in the Iowa Veterinary Medicine Association Greentag and Goldtag programs
